Great North Museum

Great North Museum incorporates archaeological collections held at the Hancock museum, the Greek Shefton Museum, and the Museum of Antiquities, together with the significant natural history collections.

The museum is famous for holding the only surviving example of German Dadaist Kurt Schwitters’ Merzbau (a kind of architectural collage), they also hold a collection of African sculptures and regularly display many different temporary exhibits.

They are open Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
