Newcastle is famous for its thriving nightlife throughout its main streets filled with many clubs, bars & restaurants.

It is a very popular location for stag and hen nights where people party into the night letting their hair down and forgetting their worries.

It has been reported by many guides and magazines and is listed in the top ten places to go for an unforgettable night out, the nightlife is one of Newcastle’s top tourist attractions.

There are many areas of concentrated pubs, nightclubs and bars situated around the Bigg Market and Quayside area of the city center.

Some popular areas are Central Station, Collingwood Street, Neville Street and Osbourne Street, which all house many bars with a fabulous attitude to enjoying yourself.

Fairly recently a new center opened up named ‘The Gate’, this is an indoor complex that holds a 12-screen Empire multiplex cinema, upmarket clubs, and bars among many other attractions to keep you entertained throughout the night.

Newcastle is home to the ‘Pink Square’, the center of the gay scene in Newcastle which has many pubs, bars and clubs where you are always greeted with a friendly smile. There is a further expansion planned for the future and the community is welcoming it by providing ideas and market research.

On Stowell Street there is a Chinese village with many Chinese restaurants and Chinese memorabilia, many top chefs work on this street and have built worldwide recognition from there. Not to mention the city has a wide variety of Indian, Persian, Japanese and Italian restaurants to satisfy most tastes.

In recent years opening hours of pub, bars and clubs in Newcastle has increased with a lot of them acquiring new licenses to be able to open 24 hours a day for business.

Many of the pubs have since extended their opening times from 11 pm to 2 am – 3 am. This has forced some traditional family-run pubs to close to make way for new upmarket bars and clubs.
